In addition she has studied the Song of the 13 Ghost Points more recently with Jeffery Yuen, a Taoist priest, herbalist and acupuncturist.
Laura has been in private clinical practice since 1991. Her practice, Stillpoint, has been in Rockland, Maine since 1996. She teaches post-graduate 5 Element Theory and Clinical Supervision groups in Maine, Vermont and New York City as Program Director of The Unseen Hand: Medicine from Antiquity (www.theunseenhand.org), a non-profit school based in Maine.
These advanced study groups began in 2006. The Teachings are alive, highly interactive, and the learning vibrant and rigorous. The teaching reaches toward practitioners still in training as well as senior practitioners who have been in practice for decades.
In addition to the practice of 5 Element Taoist Medicine, Laura collaborates with working artists bringing the disciplines of ancient medicine together with the urgent call to the Muses of our Time.
After 24 years, in January 2014, Laura stepped out of the daily/weekly clinical life of her private practice to devote her time to the teaching of this tradition of medicine. As part of her work, she will continue to work clinically in Maine, Vermont and NYC, in Teaching Clinics that meet quarterly in each location. These consultation days will allow her to continue her tending of this medicine in her own local community. She is the Director of Stillpoint, committed to keeping the excellence of 5 Element Acupuncture alive in Maine. She currently lives in Maine with her husband and son, working in Rockland and Whitefield.
